Members have said, once you've RamDisked you can't go back to purely mechanical drives (like going from tape to floppies, or floppies to hard disk). I have both Titan's 3+2 & 3+2e systems & OnThree's 512Kn my want list)...If YOU can use either of these features & would use a Ramdisk enough to make it worthwhile (one forgetful re-boot make make it worth the $29.95)...Yes. I know of no other drivers, currently on the market (other than Titan's) to allow ouy to follow. Did it preform as advertised?...Yes. Is it friendly?...Yes. Should you buy it?...The 128x's are a great improvement over Titan's drivers allowing rebooting; the 140 is great if you have only one drive (personally, a second would be HIGH on out in any format he wishes. I don't like it as I means I MUST print it to paper (requiring a printer) prior to use & is not a straight ASCII file (contain proportionate spacing - extra spaces, carriage returns needing deletion). It is as ALWAYS, eas He recommends having them right on the Catalyst boot disk & available to all applications. As with all DA.DataSystem products, the documentation is "on the disk." I like this because it allows the user to add his own "notes," make corrections & print iew to RAM disking, you must "REMEMBER THE RAMDISK!!" during your power-down sequence. Additionally, RAM+3 drivers have not been tested as 'dynamically loaded' devices under Catalyst. .RAM140's size might choke Catalyst, but the 128K device should work. , probably preferable to .RAM128, if you can spare the extra 1K, since it formats itself automatically at first boot-up. Daryl warns, while .RAM128 & .RAM128F preserve their contents over re-boots they DO NOT preserve if power is removed. If you are nunting, Lazarus, DrawOn 3) in a 256K machine, however, you loose the device-to-device match; .RAM128F, a slightly larger (less than 2K), enhanced version of .RAM128, automatically formats at initial system boot; subsequent re-boots leave things undisturbedely compact, under 1K, must be formatted prior to first use, contents are preserved over a re-boot because no system memory is used (uses ONLY the ram onboard the 3+2 system), ideal if you are running one of the memory-hungry applications (e.g. BPI accoOS.DRIVER). The three drivers include: .RAM140, a 13+K 140K ramdisk, FULLY COMPATIBLE with other 140K devices (i.e. copy .D1 to .RAM then .RAM to .D1 repeatedly for batch duplication), a good choice if you have a single-floppy system; .RAM128, extremVOLUME NAME (/DISKNAME) OR DEVICE NAME (.Dx)"P12);::"80C";a$;:Zb$="CHANGING DISKS"$d=23:=0::"80C";b$;::12).n=12:=20:"MAKE A NEW MENU FOR DISK: ";N$xN$)<2110=N$ :210 I=1L(A$(I),A$))200B$79:"--- rewriting loader"06000: write it back out X ----- query slot 1-4 boot ]28)Ub"Normally Emulation will boot DOS or ProDos from the device in Slot #6 (.D1).":Rd"If you have a device connected to slots 1,2,3 or 4 which is properly sder":path$=pfx2$+loader.name$:block%=0: note 0 as base now5000: read it in"emu.name$=pfx2$+emulator.name$,namelen%=emu.name$):buff%(17)=namelen%"--- modifying loader"i=1namelen%:j=i+17 buff%(j)=emu.name$,i,1)) -=pfx2$+loader.name$"--- copying loader")copyfile(@infile$,@outfile$,@ecode%)ecode%=327outfile$:4608ecode%<>0"Error COPYING the file ";infile$;:990final.loader$=outfile$" --------- modify the loader "--- re-reading loapy files"--- copying emulator":infile$=+emulator.name$:outfile$=pfx2$+emulator.name$)copyfile(@infile$,@outfile$,@ecode%)ecode%=327outfile$:4208ecode%<>0"Error COPYING the file ";infile$;:9906infile$=+loader.name$:outfile$device/subdirectory where";"you want to install ";v$;" emulation :";:" ";device$'lcase$=device$:1000:device$=ucase$0pfx$=device$+"/"+subdir.name$:pfx2$=pfx$+"/" œ260pfx$,,1024300 œ9000, --------- co;=>?@ABCDEFGHame$="LOADER."+version$&subdir.name$="EMULATION."+version$'emulator.name$="EMULATOR."+version$ buff%(1024),sv.block0%(512)reqcnt%=512!"install.inv","copyfile.inv"8000: get block-0J"Enter the name of the Hard-Disk device or install pgm$="TWO-N-FRO /// "(version$="64E": *** 48 or 64 or 64EFversion$="48"v$=" 48K":ۻversion$="64"v$=" 3+2 ":v$=" 3+2E " d28)9f"Installation Program for ";pgm$;" version is ";v$h: xsvp$= z=".D1"#loader.n"BASIC 0":150A$="TEXT 0":150A$="CAT 0":150A$="FONT 0":150A$="FOTO 0":150A$(L),"BLOCKS")510*=27:=19:"FREE MEMORY AVAILABLE: ";=7:=20:"80C";A$(L);$:=5:THPOS=4:I=1:IBOTM=J-1:620Q=:=26:=21:sic; +Q Quits."r12);::"80C";a$;:+w#9,"DISKNAME.DAT":#9;DISKNAME$:#9|d$=DISKNAME$$=23:=0::"80C";d$;::12)201M=3:=14:"This /// SIG Disk is \^ 19";Р,2)", Washington Apple `, Ltd."=4:B$(1)="":B$(2)=""A$=16,B) THEN 240 #1, d$="":=10:"80C";d$ ž#1300I=0"I=I+1:#1;A$(I):290,#1 6L=I-1@j=1:same=0 J:SEG=0 Tœ2030^CT<1CT=1cCT>13000Zha$="{,|,~,}; selects; to new disk; J/2)=4:=+1:ۙ=44B$(J);:J=J+1I:1,180,22:2,280,21:2,2380,23:8A$(1000),B$(1000),C%(511),C$(20),name$(20):=10:=0UCA=128:LCA=UCA+32CT=15 IF PREFIX$= PREFIX$+MID$(B$(I),et up"@f"you can have your emulation boot from that device/slot.":Th"Such a setup normally requires DOS/ProDos boot code on block #0 of the device"Pj"and a controller card with ROM that supports that boot.
